Vine & Tap Abruptly Closes in Buckhead

Service concluded over the weekend

Vine & Tap, the wine-centric Buckhead restaurant that opened in February 2014, closed its doors for good over the weekend. In a statement posted on Facebook, owner Ian Mendelsohn cited health and family reasons for the shutter.

“We have closed based on the health of myself and family,” Mendelsohn wrote. [It has] been a pleasure working with each of you over the years, but my health and family comes first. We look forward to seeing you in the future.”

In a phone conversation with Eater Atlanta, Mendelsohn confirmed he has been in poor health and needed to take a step away to recover. He praised Atlanta’s dining and wine communities and said he hopes to return with a new venture sometime in the future. Though, no plans are in the works at the moment.

In January, Ryan Catherall joined the Vine & Tap team as executive chef. There’s no word on where Catherall might land next.
