Ladybird Owner Will Open Two Restaurants in the Former H. Harper Station Space

Golden Eagle and Muchacho

Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall owner Michael Lennox will open not one, but two new restaurants in the building that previously housed H. Harper Station. After recently filing plans for Golden Eagle, Lennox announced he will also operate a venture called Muchacho out of the space at 904 Memorial Dr. SE.

Golden Eagle will be a full-service “workingman’s tavern in the spirit of mid-century lobby bars and American Legion halls,” according to a press release. What that means in terms of cuisine remains to be seen. Muchacho, offering counter service, will be more casual and inspired by the West Coast. The menu will include breakfast and lunch tacos, toasts, grain bowls, and poke bowls. Canned beer, wine, cocktails, and housemade agua frescas will be available to drink.

Elizabeth Ingram Studio is in charge of design. Like Ladybird, Lennox’s new restaurants will boast a patio that overlooks the BeltLine.

Lennox hopes to have Golden Eagle and Muchacho open this spring. An executive chef has not been announced, but a tipster in the know tells Eater Atlanta Layla Walk, previously of Yalla, Fred’s Mead & Bread, and the now-shuttered Last Word, may be in line for the gig.

H. Harper Station closed last April. Owner Jerry Slater cited increasing costs due to development in the area as reason for the shutter.
