It’s Last Call for Spice to Table, and Asha Gomez Is Donating Profits to the ACLU

Today is the restaurant’s final day

Today is the last day of service for Spice to Table, chef Asha Gomez’s Indian patisserie. Before she closes the doors for good, Gomez is using her restaurant as a fundraising arm for the American Civil Liberties Union. All of today’s proceeds will go to the ACLU, according to Atlanta Magazine.

Spice to Table will be open for limited hours, from noon to 2 p.m., and Gomez will be serving up her beloved Kerala fried chicken. Diners will reportedly be able to “pay what they like.”

Gomez, who previously operated Cardamom Hill in Westside, is closing Spice to Table after a two-and-a-half-year run. She opened the restaurant in Old Fourth Ward’s Studioplex development in August 2014, but now she’s moving on to launch a new “lifestyle brand” called DYAD Tea & Spice. “I’ll be working with chefs to launch a complete tea experience that will be offered in restaurants and, ultimately, in your homes,” Gomez said when she announced the new venture.
