As we put a cap on 2016, Eater Atlanta surveyed a few dining experts for their takes on the past year. We asked them questions that range from from top newcomers to saddest closures. All answers will be revealed — (mostly) unedited and unadulterated — by the time we pop the cork on 2017.

Kimball House feels like an extension of home. It's the place where I celebrate good things and deal with sad things over oysters and impeccable service. BoccaLupo is my darling, my love, my meat gravy. Brush for when I want a long experiential meal of omakase, a soothing bowl of ramen, a few bites of sushi, or a tasting of spirits at the bar. Miller Union, for its incredible hospitality (including Neal), beautiful wine list, and that damn gumbo. Nam Phuong since I go there every Wednesday.

There's no place I'd rather spend an evening than Ticonderoga Club. Yalla and Fred's battle for my lunchtime cravings.

Ticonderoga Club #teamchuckwagon — and everything else David Bies is serving. Then, add Madeira, rum old fashioneds, and cider. The Club is the total package for me.

If I’m going out for a nicer dinner, odds are I’m going to Ticonderoga Club, Staplehouse, Cakes & Ale, or Miller Union. We Suki Suki might be the restaurant I patronized most this year — it’s tough to beat a lunch of barbecue pork banh mi and coffee boba.
