Look for new cocktails at the Ponce City Market restaurant
Former Last Word and Cockentrice barman Cole Younger Just has a new gig at Ponce City Market. Just is on board as beverage manager at Bellina Alimentari, the Central Food Hall’s Italian market and restaurant.
“My focus behind the bar is sourcing the best ingredients and allowing them to really shine, which also goes hand-in-hand with our kitchen’s values,” Just said in a Friday announcement. “Classic cocktails stand the test of time for a reason, and I want to pay homage to them by using the best products available to us.”
Just’s new cocktail menu includes 10 beverages that “focus on classic renditions with a touch of whimsical.” Among the selections are the latte e miele (milk-washed gin, raw honey, lemon, lavender) and Pliny’s tonic (gin, Dolin Blanc, lemon, honey, za’atar spice). The latter is meant to be a nod to Bellina owner owner Tal Postelnik Baum’s native Israel.
Just will celebrate his arrival at Bellina with a spring spritz event on Sunday, May, 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. He’ll pour lower-alcohol, sparkling aperitivos.
