Chick-fil-A Will Try to Solve Atlanta’s Traffic Disaster With Free Chicken Biscuits

Carpool, and get breakfast on the house

Atlantans who have been living under rocks in recent days may discover their morning commutes have become a bit more nightmarish. Following the massive blaze and collapse of I-85 near Piedmont Road, residents across the metro area must rethink how they get around. Locally based chicken chain Chick-fil-A wants to help, and it plans to incentivize carpooling with free breakfast.

“To support our hometown, Chick-fil-A is going to feed those who are working to put things back together again -- and commuters who are ride-sharing in the mornings,” the company announced. Anyone carpooling with three or more people during their morning commute, thus taking extra vehicles off Atlanta’s strained roadways, can stop by a metro-area Chick-fil-A for a free chicken biscuit, breakfast burrito, egg white grill, or Chick-n-Minis. The deal is good Monday through Friday from opening until 7:30 a.m., through April 14.

Chick-fil-A also plans to deliver meals to those who are working to get Atlanta’s interstate system up and running again. And in a move that could go toward easing traffic congestion long after I-85 is repaired, the chain plans to pop up with free food at various Marta stations in the coming week. Now, more than ever, Marta is smarter.
