Owner Leif Johnson wants to focus on his Alpharetta restaurant
Bellwoods Social House is on the market. The Westside restaurant and bar is being listed by local real estate firm The Shumacher Group. Whether it will continue operating as is once a deal is done remains to be seen.
“Located at the Brickworks in a mixed-use retail complex anchored by 5 Seasons Brew Pub and Hop City,” the listing reads, “This is one of the hottest locations in Atlanta, steps away from the highly acclaimed Bocado, Octane, Miller Union, Bartaco, and The Optimist.”
Leif Johnson, chef and owner of Alpharetta’s Bite Bar & Bistro, opened Bellwoods at 1000 Marietta St. NW in August 2014, focusing on gastropub fare. Johnson and his partners are pulling out of the venture to focus on Bite, according to the listing. The space covers 2,700 square feet and includes street-level and rooftop patios.
Before housing Bellwoods, the Westside space was home to West & Mill Bistro and Bar.
